PASHN's vision:

PASHN, in partnership with Presbyterian Homes and Family Services, will provide an appropriate home environment for disabled adults who desire to live independently.

PASHN presentation to ARC Self-Advocacy Group, January 2012

Several members of the PASHN Board of Directors attended the ARC of Greater Williamsburg's Self-Advocacy group on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. PASHN President Lorraine Perkins gave a presentation to the clients about PASHN's mission to provide housing opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities. The clients then had a chance to give their feedback for the type of home they would like to live in through drawing pictures and writing. Lorraine Perkins is pictured with fellow board members Bob Singley, Jed Vaiden, Cindy Favret and Sue Grimes . The new executive director of the ARC is pictured in front: Jennifer Stout.

Buffalo Wild Wings Event supporting PASHN on 3 December

PASHN's Golf Tournament at Williamsburg National, Friday October 21st 2011

Parents and Advocates for Special Housing Needs (PASHN) hosted its first major fundraiser: a golf tournament at Williamsburg National on Friday, October 21st. The course was full of golfers who enjoyed a great day of golf while helping to provide housing opportunities in our community for adults with intellectual disabilities.   • has identified a serious shortage of appropriate housing for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities
  • believes that adults with disabilities deserve to remain in the community they call home when aging parents/caregivers are no longer able provide day to day care
  • will build family-style homes in a campus setting
  • has identified a suitable property in James City County
  • is developing a construction plan
  • will partner with Presbyterian Homes and Family Services, which has managed homes throughout Virginia for many years
  • intends for residents to live in these homes throughout their lives
